Michigan Late June 19

Visited the Detroit/Ann Arbor area the last weekend in June. Saw several interesting things. The Heidelberg Project I can’t explain as well as their page so I’ll just put the link here. Detroit Institute of Art was good but the Art Museum at the University of Michigan was almost as good and free. We tried e-scooters, which seemed dangerous. Also went to a ball game at Comerica Park which had a great view of downtown Detroit. Really enjoyed the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. Not just about cars, they had planes, trains and automobiles but also glass, furniture and other americana through the decades. Also has Buckminster Fuller’s Dymaxion House which was made in Wichita. Lots of children activities there and craft demonstrations. We saw weaving, glass blowing, metal spinning and a demonstration of an early phonograph. Also a nice botanical garden in Ann Arbor with interesting greenhouse collection.
